Facilitation is a practice

Coaching Circle for Facilitators 2026

A small, trusted space to reflect on your facilitation practice with peers who understand the work.

Facilitation can be rewarding, challenging, and complex. When you're the person responsible for bringing people together, there isn't always much time to step back from the work and consider what's happening, what you're learning, and what you might do differently.

The Coaching Circle for Facilitators is a space to do just that.

This circle is for facilitators working in the community sector whose role involves bringing people together. You might facilitate meetings, workshops, engagement processes, or collaborative initiatives with youth, equity-seeking groups, and other community members with a range of lived experiences.

Over six gatherings, you'll have space to step away from the day-to-day work of planning and leading groups and reflect on the real questions, opportunities, challenges, and dilemmas you're navigating in your practice.

My intention is to create a space that is both grounded and rigorous: a place where you can think honestly about your work, learn from others, and be both supported and challenged in your ongoing development as a facilitator.

What you'll gain

Through the Coaching Circle, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Gain new perspectives on complex facilitation challenges

  • Strengthen your confidence and presence as a facilitator

  • Develop your coaching and reflective practice

  • Learn from the experiences and insights of trusted peers

  • Think through real questions, opportunities, and dilemmas in your work

  • Leave each session with practical insights you can apply in your practice

  • Build an ongoing community of support with other facilitators

Paula Gallant’s coaching programs are always impactful, thoughtfully delivered, and never fail to deepen our understanding and commitment to our work. Any opportunity to work with Paula is not to be missed!

What you’ll experience…

You'll join a small cohort of four to five facilitators to explore the real questions, opportunities, and challenges you're navigating in your work. The program includes:

  • Six in-person Coaching Circle sessions

  • Connection and reflection between sessions

  • One 30-minute preparation conversation with me to help you clarify the question, opportunity, or challenge you'd like to bring to the group

  • One 45-minute integration coaching conversation to reflect on what emerged and how you'll carry it into your practice

  • Coaching, reflection, inquiry, and peer learning centred on your real work

  • A highly confidential space where you can bring authentic challenges, opportunities, and decisions

This circle is for you if...

  • You work in the community sector and regularly bring people together through meetings, workshops, engagement processes, or collaborative initiatives.

  • You're navigating real questions, challenges, opportunities, or dilemmas and would value dedicated time to think them through with others.

  • You learn through reflection, conversation, coaching, and shared experience.

  • You're interested in deepening your facilitation practice rather than taking another facilitation training program.

  • You're looking for a small, trusted community that will both support and challenge you as you continue to grow.

This isn't a structured facilitation training program. We'll use your real work as the material for learning.

“The coaching circle gave me space for myself. It gave us permission to step out of our roles, centre ourselves, and learn from people who understood the work and whose wisdom we might otherwise only have a few minutes to access.”

Jill Killfoil, PEIRSAC

A personal note

I’ve been facilitating for more than 25 years, and I know how much this work can ask of us. We care about the groups we lead and want to show up well, but anxiety, doubt, and overwhelm can sometimes get in the way.

This Coaching Circle grew out of a coaching circle I led with a group of Executive Directors this spring. I saw how valuable it was to have a small group of peers who understood the work, could ask thoughtful questions, and offer both challenge and support.

I wanted to create that kind of space for facilitators, too.

Interested?

If this feels like the right next step for you, I invite you to apply.

Because this is a small circle, participation is by invitation. After receiving the applications, I'll create a cohort of four to five facilitators whose experiences and perspectives will create a rich learning environment for everyone.

You can register now and pay later if you're waiting for professional development funding or internal approval. Payment isn't required to reserve your spot.

If you have any questions before applying, please don't hesitate to reach out.
